Are you one of the many professionals who works as an online consultant, offering by-the-hour services to your clients?

If you're doing "well" in terms of monthly income, there IS a way to strategically market your offerings so you could be doing "better." And if you're doing "not so well," then you definitely want to find a new and creative way to add perceived value to what you sell.

Also: "doing well" is a relative term. To one person, bringing in $1k per week might be satisfactory, but another person may be pulling in $4K per week and STILL that's not enough!

So it really depends on how you look at it but I think we'd all agree that "more" is "better." That's why it's worth reconfiguring your sell page to drive MORE business.

One way to do this is to "productize" your services. Yes - turn what you offer into a package of deliverables - X, Y and Z.

For instance, let's say that you're a personal trainer, but one of your challenges to retaining clients is boundaries, or a lack of. Your clients often call and email you with questions, or maybe they'd like you to help them in areas other than just working out - like designing diets, monitoring their progress, and so forth. You know that time is money, so you want to be paid for all the time you spend focusing on them. Where it gets hairy is those "nonbillables" - the gray area where you are not exactly "working with them" but maybe you're fielding questions, offering email support, and so forth.

If you productize your services, you can draw a line between what the client can and cannot expect and what amount you will be paid. This arrangement will bring the client assurance that he is getting X, Y, and Z, and will also bring you assurance that you will be spending X amount of time for a specific, agreed-upon dollar amount.

Experiment with ways that you can package up what you offer and deliver for one flat fee. For example, if you find a great program online that lets you customize diet plans maybe you can offer those easily-built, custom diet plans to your customers at a flat fee. You can also package in monthly group calls, in-person meetings, and other types of support that they might not have purchased at the price of your one-on-one fitness training, but are willing to bite at lower, group rates.

The great thing about internet marketing is that if you something doesn't work out for you, you can always scrap the idea and then try something else. So what are you waiting for?
